Pensacola Ice Pilots News Release

PENSACOLA, FL - President Greg Schuh and Head Coach John Marks have announced the Ice Pilots have re-signed forward Dan Sullivan for the 2007-08 season. The fifth-year pro returns for his second season in Pensacola.

Sullivan, 26, is a multi-faceted player who can score, hit and fight. In 57 games last season, he scored 16 goals with 19 assists for 35 points and led the Ice Pilots with 245 PIM.

Head Coach John Marks feels Sullivan will be a major part of the Ice Pilots success this season. "I think Dan is a very good signing for us. I am excited to have him back this year in Pensacola," said Marks. "He brings a lot of things to the table as a player and a person. He plays hard, is big, strong and has skill. Sullivan is a player who has flown under the radar and I believe he has the ability to play at the next level. He is going to be one of our go-to guys and a team leader."

A fan favorite, Sullivan is honored to be invited back for the 07-08 season. "When I first head John Marks was coming to coach Pensacola, it was definitely a turning point in my decision making process," said Sullivan. "When Mario (Forgione) and Greg (Schuh) decided to make changes in all aspects of our team from hockey operations to the front office, I think it showed they were really serious about going in a different direction."

"One of the biggest compliments I received was being invited back. This season, I want to take the bull by the horns and be a leader. When you are winning, Pensacola can be the best place to play hockey. I think the fans deserve that here."

The 6'2'', 220 pound native of Weston, ON has played in 221 career games, amassing 51 goals and 64 assists for 115 points. Prior to joining the Ice Pilots last season, Sullivan spent time with Augusta, Louisiana, Reading, Baton Rouge and Roanoke. He also played parts of two seasons in the AHL with Lowell, registering one assist in six games. Sullivan began his career in the Ontario Hockey League. He joined London, Mississauga and Owen Sound for four seasons before turning pro.
