
Sioux Falls brings in Bell

SIOUX FALLS, S.D., Jan. 9, 2007 - Center Chad Bell has been acquired by the Sioux Falls Skyforce of the NBA Development League. Bell moves into the roster spot vacated when forward Andre Brown earned a GATORADE Call-Up, signing a 10-day contract with the Seattle Sonics on Jan. 5.
Bell, 7-0, 268, was taken by the Arkansas RimRockers in the ninth round of the 2006 NBA D-League Draft. He played in 12 games for the RimRockers, averaging 5.3 minutes, 1.6 points and 1.0 rebound before being waived on Jan. 3.
Out of Westchester High School in Los Angeles, Bell played collegiately at both New Mexico (2001-02, 2002-03) and Nevada (04-05, 05-06). He led New Mexico and was third in the Mountain West Conference with 29 blocked shots (1.34 pg) in 2001-02.
Bell is expected to be in uniform for the Skyforce (10-8) when Arkansas (6-10) visits the Sioux Falls Arena on Friday.
