SHOPPING WITH THE STAMPEDE: Members of the Boys and Girls Club of Ada County, Idaho will be paired with an Idaho Stampede player, coach or staff member to shop for clothes at a local Wal-Mart on Jan. 11. The "Klothes for Kids" program allows Club members that have demonstrated outstanding citizenship and leadership skills to shop for clothes at one of two Wal-Mart locations in the Boise area.
CONROY AGAIN: Tulsa point guard Will Conroy has been named the D-LEAGUE.com Performer of the Week for the second consecutive time after posting three consecutive double-doubles with points and assists. Conroy set a league record with 20 assists to go with his 22 points at Sioux Falls on Jan. 6, becoming the first player in league history to top 20 points and 20 assists in a game. His averages for the three games were 21.0 points, 15.3 assists, and 3.6 rebounds. Conroy shot 21-35 (.600), from the field, including 7-12 (.583) from three-point range.
AMIR TO SKYFORCE: The Detroit Pistons assigned second-year forward Amir Johnson to the Sioux Falls Skyforce on Monday, making him the 11th player assigned from an NBA team to its D-League affiliate this season. Johnson's first action with Sioux Falls will be at the Sioux Falls Arena on Friday against Arkansas.
LUKE, YOU ARE A CLIPPER: The Los Angeles Clippers signed Idaho forward Luke Jackson to a 10-day contract Monday, making him the fifth GATORADE Call-Up this season. Jackson played in six games with the Stampede, averaging 12.5 points, 2.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 30.3 minutes per game.

THEY SAID IT: "In minor league sports there is a real emphasis on entertainment. I am hopeful that we can raise the level of entertainment in minor league sports. Our goal is to be a case study for what an exceptional team is supposed to be." ... Brandt Andersen, owner of the D-League expansion Utah team, recently told Sports Business Journal. Utah begins play in 2007-08.
PUTTING ON A SHOW: The annual MLK D-League Showcase begins Monday in Sioux Falls, S.D. Every team in the league will converge on the Sioux Falls Arena for 12 games in three days (Jan. 15-17). The first of four games each day is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
SEEING THE SHOW: If you can't make it to Sioux Falls, then check out NBA TVs coverage of the MLK D-League Showcase, with 10 of 12 games being broadcast live. Coverage on all three days begins at noon eastern.
