Waterloo Black Hawks News Release
The Sioux City Musketeers sliced up the Waterloo Black Hawks with a five goal second period leading to a 7-2 decision at Tyson Event Center Friday.
Black Hawks defenseman Blake Thompson scored the first goal of the game 6:24 of the opening period, then assisted on the final tally of the night during a power play at 16:31 of the second. It was Thompson's first career multipoint game in the USHL. The second Black Hawk goal was scored on Zach Palmquist's shot with Jon Puskar screening the front of the net.
In between, the Musketeers scored seven times, taking a 2-1 lead into intermission, then exploding for five in the second. At one point, Sioux City scored twice in nine seconds, one of two occasions they would notch a pair of goals in less than a minute. Stephan Vigier led the way for the home side with two goals and two assists.
The Hawks play their final home game of the 2009-2010 regular season against Team USA Saturday at 7:05. Next Generation Wireless will give away free t-shirts to 500 lucky fans in attendance.
