Silvertips Take Down Americans 4-1

The Everett Silvertips defeated the Tri-City Americans by a final score of 4-1 tonight at the Everett Events Center. This was meeting number four of eight and Everett leads the series 3-0-0-1. The Silvertips remain top dogs in the division, as well as the league. They now have 84 points and a 41-7-0-2 record. The Americans, second in the US Division, have 63 points and a 31-17-0-1 history.

The first goal of the game came from Colton Yellow Horn at 4:35 of the second period. While the Americans were on a five minute power play, Yellow Horn caught a cross-ice pass and fired one from the right face off dot. Roman Teslyuk and Tanner Gillies earned assists on Tri-Cities' lone goal.

Everett tied it up at one a piece after Jesse Smyke whacked at a puck and pushed it behind Carey Price. The Silvertips' first goal was assisted by Dan Gender and Dane Crowley. Early in the third Ondrej Fiala beat Price around the crease to give the Silvertips a one goal cushion. At 13:10 Brandon Campos earned a tally while Peter Mueller scored on a two-on-one with Zach Hamill to cement the 4-1 win. Posting assists on Everett's last three goals were Moises Gutierrez, Zack Dailey, Jason Fransoo, Zach Hamill and Jonathan Harty all with one a piece.

In between the pipes for Everett was Leland Irving. Irving made 24/25 stops and bumps his record to 26-4-0-2. For Tri-Cities, Carey Price made 19 saves on 23 shots but falls to 18-9. On the power play the Silvertips were scoreless on seven chances while the Americans converted on one of seven. Tri-Cities out shot Everett 25-23 in the hockey game.

These two franchises meet again in two days, on Friday February 2nd. The action begins at 7:05pm at the Toyota Center in Kennewick, WA.
