KENT - The Everett Silvertips defeated the Seattle Thunderbirds 6-1 Saturday night at Angel of the Winds Arena.
The T-Birds travel to Spokane to play the Chiefs on Sunday at 5:05pm in the last game before the annual WHL holiday break.
Right wing Andrej Kukuca left the team earlier today to join Team Slovakia at their training camp for the 2019 World Junior Championship.
Everett went in front 1-0 at 7:57 of the first period on a goal by Martin Fasko-Rudas. Bryce Kindopp and Jake Christiansen had the assists.
The Silvertips went in front 2-0 at 11:18 of the first when Bryce Kindopp tipped a Connor Dewar shot past Seattle goalie Cole Schwebius. Sahvan Khaira had the second assist.
Gianni Fairbrother scored at 15:03 and Riley Sutter at 16:20 to give the Silvertips a 4-0 lead after one period.
Everett's Jackson Berezowski scored at 19:11 of the second period to make it a 5-0 lead.
Seattle got on the board at 4:15 of the third period on Jaxan Kaluski's second goal of the season. Kaluski skated the puck through the neutral zone and into the offensive zone on the right win. Kaluski cut to the high slot and beat Everett goalie Dustin Wolf with a quick wrist shot.
Sutter scored Everett's sixth goal at 12:48 of the third.
Schwebius had 33 saves on 39 shots.
Wolf had 21 saves on 22 shots.
Single game tickets are on sale online on the T-Birds website and at the accesso ShoWare Center box office.
The T-Birds are now taking orders for Flex-24 Ticket packages. Fans that purchase the 24-Flex Ticket Package will be able to select any available premium seat for any game, in any ticket combination, during the 2018-19 season.
