WHL Linesman Nathan Van Oosten Receives WHL Milestone Award

Vancouver, B.C. -The Western Hockey League announced today WHL Linesman Nathan Van Oosten has been honoured with the WHL Milestone Award. Van Oosten was recognized by WHL Senior Director, Officiating Kevin Muench in a special ceremony prior to tonight's game between the Vancouver Giants and Prince George Cougars.

The WHL Milestone Award is presented to WHL players, coaches, trainers, officials and WHL Championship teams for their outstanding achievements.

Van Oosten, in his 13thseason as a WHL Linesman, began his WHL Officiating career in 2006 and has worked more than 400 regular season games. The native of Vancouver has skated in nine WHL Conference Championships and three WHL Championship Series. In 2013 and 2016, Van Oosten was part of the officiating crews for the Memorial Cup in Saskatoon and Red Deer, respectively.

In addition to his work as a WHL Linesman, Van Oosten has enjoyed extensive opportunities on the international stage, having officiated the IIHF World Junior Championship in 2017, the IIHF World Championship in 2017 and 2018, as well as working the Winter Olympic Games in 2018.

Away from the rink, Van Oosten has enjoyed a successful career with Raicor Contracting Ltd. for the past 14 years.
