EVERETT, Wash. - The Everett Silvertips (@WHLSilvertips) and general manager Garry Davidson announced today that the club has signed prospect defenseman Gianni Fairbrother (JAUGH-knee) to a Western Hockey League Standard Player Agreement.
"Gianni has continued to make significant improvements in his all-around development as we're thrilled to officially add him to our program," said Davidson. "As an all-situations defenseman who caught our eye, we're confident about his potential. We are pleased to welcome Gianni to the Silvertips family."
Fairbrother, a 2000-born defenseman, was awarded Top Defenseman this season in the Canadian Sports School Hockey League (Elite 15s), racking up 18 points (5g-13a) in 35 games to lead the Burnaby Winter Club in scoring among defensemen and ranking second in club playoff scoring with four assists in four games. The 5-foot-10, 174 pound blueliner was selected by the Silvertips in the fourth round (80th overall) in the 2015 WHL Bantam Draft.
Fairbrother joins the Silvertips active roster and has been assigned jersey #48.
