Everett Silvertips News Release

Tonight in Saskatchewan, the Everett Silvertips dominated over the Saskatoon Blades at the Credit Union Centre with a final score of 5-2.

The Silvertips started with a goal in the first but did not take off until the second period. Three very close Blade penalties, starting at about the seven minute mark, created numerous power play opportunities. The Silvertips took full advantage and scored three times in 2 minutes and 47 seconds. The final point happened with eight seconds left in the third, while the team was short-handed, into an empty net.

Doing the scoring tonight for the Silvertips were Assistant Captains Torrie Wheat and Barry Horman with two and one respectively, Captain Mitch Love with one and WHL rookie Karel Hromas with one. Putting up assists tonight for the team were Mitch Love with four, Barry Horman and Shaun Heshka with two a piece and Torrie Wheat with one.

Mitch Love breaks a team record with scoring the most points in one game, with five tonight. The previous record was held by Riley Armstrong and John Dahl with four points, both in last year's season. Also showing how much he's worth, Leland Irving stayed strong and only let the Blades score on him twice.

Next up for the Silvertips on this road trip is the Moose Jaw Warriors on Tuesday, November 9th. The game begins at 5pm Pacific Standard Time.
