Silvertips Announce Training Camp Schedule

EVERETT - The Everett Silvertips released dates and times for the team's 2012 training camp Thursday, exactly one week prior to the first on-ice sessions of our 10th Anniversary season. After players report next Wednesday, training camp practices and scrimmages run from Thursday through Saturday before camp concludes with the annual Green vs. Grey intrasquad Game on Sunday afternoon.

All practices, scrimmages and the Green vs. Grey Game will be held at the Comcast Community Ice Rink and are open to the public. Fans can enter the community rink via the Broadway entrance on the East end of Comcast Arena. Admission to the Green vs. Grey intrasquad Game at 2:00 pm Sunday is free with one non-perishable food donation per person to the Volunteers of America Everett Food Bank. Seating is limited.

Roughly 80 players will attend Silvertips training camp in 2012 as selected free-agent invitees join the 50 players on Everett's WHL protected list. Most will be competing for spots on the opening day roster, while members of the Silvertips' 2012 Bantam Draft class will get their first taste of WHL competition before heading home for their 15-year-old seasons.

The players in camp will be split into four separate teams that will compete against one another in a round-robin tournament complete with first and third-place games on Sunday morning. The camp roster will then be trimmed down and re-organized into two teams that will face-off in the annual Green vs. Grey Game on Sunday afternoon.

Wednesday, August 22: Player Check-in

Thursday, August 23:

8:00am - 2:00 pm Practices (each team individual practice, plus goalie session)

3:45 pm Team Grey vs. Team Green

5:30 pm Team Blue vs. Team Red

Friday, August 24:

8:00am - 2:00 pm Practices

3:45 pm Team Green vs. Team Blue

5:30 pm Team Grey vs. Team Red

Saturday, August 25:

8:00am - 2:00 pm Practices

3:45 pm Team Green vs. Team Red

5:30 pm Team Grey vs. Team Blue

Sunday, August 26:

8:00am 3rd place team vs. 4th place team

9:15 am 1st place team vs. 2nd place team

2:00 pm Green vs. Grey Game
