Silvertips Acquire Goaltender Max Palaga from the Kamloops Blazers for a Sixth Round Selection in the 2020 WHL Draft

EVERETT, Wash. - The Everett Silvertips (@WHLSilvertips), six-time U.S. Division champion and defending Western Conference champions of the Western Hockey League, have acquired goaltender Max Palaga (Pah-LAY-gah) from the Kamloops Blazers in exchange for a sixth round selection in the 2020 WHL Draft, Silvertips general manager Garry Davidson announced today.

Palaga, a 2000-born goaltender, has suited up in 18 games with the Blazers in his WHL career with a 5-7-0-1 record and 3.70 goals-against-average. He earned his first career victory last season with 23 saves against the Vancouver Giants on Nov. 3, and had a career high 38 saves against the Silvertips in downtown Everett on Feb. 18.

This season, Palaga has five games in net with the Vernon Vipers (BCHL), carrying a 2-2-1 record, a .943 save percentage, one shutout, and 1.77 goals-against-average. The 6-foot-1, 170 pound netminder was originally listed by the Blazers and made his WHL debut in 2016-17, in nearly 19 minutes of action against the Victoria Royals with six saves.
