October 29, 2018 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Kootenay Ice News Release
ICE defenceman Jonathan Smart has been named October's Community Leader of the Month presented by East Kootenay Community Credit Union.
Jonathan is always one of the first players to raise his hand and volunteer his time in the community. Jonathan is very personable, terrific with kids and always greets you with a smile and a greeting as you walk through a door.
Jonathan has done a tremendous job at both ICE Kids Club events during the 2018-19 hockey season, the latest taking place in early October. Before that, in late September, Jonathan signed up for a player appearance at the local CIBC branch on Baker Street. There, he greeted everyone walking through the front door and encouraged them to donate to CIBC's Run for the Cure, an initiative that raises money for the Canadian Cancer Society.
Congratulations to Jonathan Smart, who has been named October's Community Leader of the Month.
