
Silvertip Comeback Tops Hitmen , 4-2

Everett, WA - The Everett Silvertips scored three third period goals to comeback and defeat the Calgary Hitmen Friday night, 4-2. Tyler Maxwell's two third period goals earned the Everett forward first star of the night. Kellan Tochkin collected a goal and an assist for the Silvertips Friday night. Landon Ferraro collected a point in his eighth straight game grabbing an assist Tochkin's second period goal. Ferraro now has nine points in eight games (4G, 5A).
Calgary scored the first goal of the game at 16:27 of the first period. Justin Kirsch collected his third goal of the season collecting a rebound, on top of the crease, from a Kent Simpson pad save on Trevor Cheek. Calgary took a 1-0 lead into the locker room after the first period leading in shots 14-11.
Everett tied the game with Tochkin's third goal of the year at 7:45 of the second period. Capitalizing on the man advantage, Tochkin rushed from the left circle straight to the net before going top shelf, glove side past Calgary goalie Michael Snider. The Hitmen regained the lead with a goal from Cody Beach at 13:11. Kris Foucault made a great behind the net pass to Beach in the slot before going low, glove side past Simpson to make the score 2-1 Calgary.
The Silvertips tied the game for the second time Friday night when Maxwell scored his team leading ninth goal of the season. Coming at 3:32 of the third period, Maxwell ended up with the puck in the slot before stick handling to his right and going five-hole past Snider. Maxwell scored his second goal of the night at 9:16 to give Everett their first lead of the game. Tochkin made a great pass from behind the net to Maxwell in the slot for a one-timer that went past Snider five-hole for a 3-2 Everett lead. Calgary pulled Snider for the extra attacker with 1:07 left in regulation. Stanfield scored his first goal as an Everett Silvertip dumping the puck from his own zone and finding the empty net to seal a 4-2 victory.
This brings the âTips record to 5-1-1-1 with 12 points in 8 games played. Everett starts their first road trip of the season Saturday night in Spokane taking on the Chiefs at 7:00 pm.
