Silver Hawks Announce Internet Broadcast

South Bend Silver Hawks News Release


SOUTH BEND, IN - The South Bend Silver Hawks and Minor League Baseball Radio have teamed up for two live internet broadcasts this season. The two games include the Saturday, June 14 home game against the Dayton Dragons at Coveleski Stadium and August 2 road game against the Peoria Chiefs in Peoria, IL. The games will be streamed live online at www.milbradio.com. Fans can also access the broadcasts through the Silver Hawks website at www.silverhawks.com.

Tim Kuda, the founder and host of Minor League Baseball Radio, will broadcast both games. Former South Bend White Sox pitcher, Mark Tortorice, will join Kuda and provide color commentary for the broadcast. Tortorice is a 1982 graduate of Proviso West High School in Hillside, IL and led his team to a championship as their top left-handed pitcher. In 1984 he played in the Junior College World Series and finished 2nd in the nation in strikeouts. Tortorice was drafted by the Oakland A's in 1985 and pitched in the Northwest and California leagues with the Oakland organization from 1985 to 1987. In 1988, Tortorice was a member of the South Bend White Sox for the inaugural season at Coveleski Stadium. He is now the lead pitching instructor and camp coordinator at The Hitting Zone Baseball and Softball Facility in Bartlett, IL.
