
Sibley Hospital And Mystics Continue Partnership

Washington, D.C- Sibley Memorial Hospital will return for a third consecutive year as the Washington Mystics' official health care provider, Mystics Chief Operating Officer Greg Bibb announced today. In the last two years, the Mystics have raised $77,000 for the Sullivan Center for Breast Health during post-game auctions. Sibley will continue to be the presenting sponsor of the Mystics' Breast Health Awareness Game which will be held on August 1 at 4:00 p.m. and will feature the newly added WNBA team, the Tulsa Shock.
The Breast Health Awareness Game allows Sibley and the Mystics to continue to raise awareness and money for underserved and uninsured women in the metropolitan area afflicted with the disease. Breast cancer survivors will be honored guests at the game, compliments of Sibley and the Mystics. Following the game, fans will have a chance to bid on numerous sports experiences and memorabilia from teams and athletes from the metropolitan area as well as the WNBA.
Robert L. Sloan, President and Chief Executive Officer of Sibley Memorial Hospital stated, "We are pleased to partner with the Mystics again this year to increase awareness of breast health and the importance of mammograms for all women."
"We are thrilled to welcome Sibley back as a corporate partner for the third consecutive year," Bibb stated. "Together, we will continue the fight against breast cancer and honor those who have triumphed over this terrible disease."
Serving Washington, DC since 1890, Sibley Memorial Hospital is a 328-bed acute care nonprofit hospital. Sibley is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and is licensed by the District of Columbia Department of Health and Human Services.
The Washington Mystics will tip off the 2010 season with a back to back on Saturday, May 15 on the road against the Eastern Conference Champions, Indiana Fever followed by a match up on Sunday, May 16 against the Minnesota Lynx. Washington will host the club's home opener on Friday, May 21, against the New York Liberty. Season, group tickets and six packs for the 2010 season are currently on sale and can be purchased by calling the Mystics Sales Office at 1-877-DC-HOOP1 or by visiting the Mystics web site at www.washingtonmystics.com.
