Modesto Nuts News Release
San Jose, CA. - Another quiet night for the Modesto Nuts' bats resulted in a 2-0 loss against the San Jose Giants on Wednesday night at Municipal Stadium.
Mark Reyes (W, 7-3) walked four but did not allow a run over six shutout innings in his start for the Giants (7-7; 46-37).
Helmis Rodriguez (L, 1-5) turned in a quality start even though he had just one perfect inning in his first start as a full-time member of the Nuts' (4-10; 30-54) rotation. He struck out four and walked one while giving up eight hits in six innings. The lone runs scored on Jonah Arenado's RBI double and Jose Vizcaino's sac fly.
Reyes Moronta (S, 4/4) worked a perfect ninth for the Giants.
The finale of a four-game series against the San Jose Giants is Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. Coverage on ModestoNuts.com will start at 6:55 p.m. Listen live online.
