BILOXI, MS - The Biloxi Shuckers, Double-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers, are excited to announce the release of the official game schedule for the 2016 season. The 140-game schedule, featuring 70 home games and 70 road games over 152 days, opens on Thursday, April 7 with a seven-game homestand, including a five-game series with the Chattanooga Lookouts and a two-game series against the Mobile BayBears.

"We are thrilled to have the opportunity to open the 2016 season at home, providing the hardcore Shuckers fans a true Opening Day experience, complete with a fan-fest and open house," said Biloxi Shuckers general manager, Buck Rogers.

The Shuckers will be at home for 22 Fridays and Saturdays in 2016 and be home for Independence Day, July 4 against the Jacksonville Suns. The Shuckers are planning a "Double Fireworks" Show for July 4, where fans will be able to see both the city of Biloxi's and the Shuckers' fireworks from MGM Park.

The 70-game home slate features 15 games in April, 11 in May, 14 in June, 13 in July and 17 in July. The Shuckers will play the South Division 85 times in 2015 and 55 against the North Division. The Pensacola Blue Wahoos appear on the schedule the most with 25 games, 10 at MGM Park. Biloxi matches up in the Magnolia State rivalry against the Mississippi Braves 20 times, with five-game sets at MGM Park, May 31-June 4 and Aug. 22- 26.

The Shuckers nearest geographical opponent, the Mobile BayBears appear on the schedule 20 times, comprising a combination of two and three game series April 12-16, May 25-29, July 26-30 and Aug. 17-21. The home slate also includes a season-long 10-game homestand, August 22-31 against the M-Braves and Jackson (TN) Generals.

The 2016 Southern League All-Star Game will take place on Tuesday, June 21 at Trustmark Park in Pearl, Miss, the home of the Mississippi Braves, and will split the first and second halves of the season.

The Shuckers will play the first doubleheader in MGM Park history Friday night, with first pitch of game one set for 6:10 pm. Fans with tickets to Friday's game will be admitted for both games of the doubleheader. Fans with a ticket to Thursday's game which was postponed by inclement weather can exchange it for any non-restricted home game during the 2015 regular season. Friday's doubleheader will include two seven inning games, with game two beginning 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one.

Game one will feature a matchup of RHP Tyler Wagner (7-5, 2.53) for the Shuckers, while the Generals will counter with RHP Stephen Landazuri (0-2, 4.14). LHP Hobbs Johnson (7-4, 3.20) will take the mound for Biloxi in game two with Jackson's starter to be announced. The twin-bill will have a first pitch of 6:10 p.m., with coverage beginning at 5:55 p.m. on 1240-AM WGCM, 1580-AM WPMO and the Biloxi Shuckers Radio Network.
