Southern Conference Leaders Square Off

The two top teams in the South, the Odessa Jackalopes (13-2-2) and the Allen Americans (10-4-1) meet for the first time on Friday night in Odessa. The Jacks are 6-1-1 at home this season and with the Americans outstanding road record, 7-2-1, it should be a great match-up. The two clubs have had success in contrasting fashion with Odessa owning the league's top offense averaging 4.71 goals per game and the Americans holding the opposition to a league-best 2.53 goals per game. Odessa forwards Collin Circelli and Jeff Pierce each have scored goals in the last three Jacks' games.

Mavs Stuff Oilers Streak on Turkey Day

The Missouri Mavericks played spoiler on Thanksgiving in the only CHL game beating the Tulsa Oilers 5-4 in a shootout. Playing in his first game with Missouri, defenseman Mike Burgoyne scored once during regulation and tallied the shootout game winner. The former All-CHL performer signed with Missouri earlier in the week as did former CHL All-Star goaltender Alexandre Vincent who made 31 saves in his first start. The loss for the Oilers ended their quest to tie the franchise record for consecutive wins (eight) and forced the Northern Conference leaders to settle for seven straight wins. The CHL's leading scorer, Tulsa's Rob Hisey, scored a goal in the loss extending his league-leading point streak to 13 games. He has 31 points on the season (12-19=31). Burgoyne has scored 40 goals combined in his two previous seasons in the CHL, both with Oklahoma City.

2008 Finals Re-Match in Arizona

The two clubs that battled for the 2008 Ray Miron President's Cup face-off on Friday and Saturday when the Colorado Eagles (9-3-1) travel to Tim's Toyota Center to face the Arizona Sundogs (5-8-2). Colorado is 14-6-1 all-time versus the Sundogs in regular season but it was the 2008 Finals where the 'Dogs stung the Eagles with a four-game sweep. Colorado is coming off a 10-4 victory on Wednesday night at home versus Amarillo setting a new franchise record with 10 goals in a single game. The Sundogs have lost three of their last four games overall and at home.
