Shorebirds Begin Seven-Game Homestand Thursday

SALISBURY, Md. -- The Delmarva Shorebirds, Class "A" affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, will begin a seven-game homestand at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium on Thursday, May 28.

The first four games of the homestand will feature contests against the West Virginia Power (Pittsburgh Pirates affiliate), while the final three games will be against the Lakewood BlueClaws (Philadelphia Phillies affiliate). All seven dates will feature a number of promotions for fans to take advantage of.

Thursday, May 28 vs. West Virginia Power, 7:05 p.m.

Thursday's homestand opener will feature the first hat giveaway of the season presented by Spicer Bros. Construction Inc. The first 500 fans will receive a purple and black Shorebirds hat that was the winner of a fan voting contest in the offseason.

This game will also mark another Kiss 95.9 Thirsty Thursday presented by University Village of Salisbury. Drink specials include 16-ounce cans of Miller Lite and Coors Light, as well as 16-ounce Pepsi products, for just $2.

Friday, May 29 vs. West Virginia Power, 7:05 p.m.

Join the Shorebirds as we celebrate everyone's favorite mascot Sherman for his annual birthday celebration. He will be joined by his mascot friends from throughout the area for a night of fun thanks to Sherwood of Salisbury.

Friday's contest is also a Froggy 99.9 Big Beer Friday, where 32-ounce Coors Light and Miller Lite draft beers will be priced at just $6 all night.

Finally, the Shorebirds will welcome area students for another Hit the Books Night presented by Dr. James Crouse's The Brace Place. Students who participated in this annual reading program will take part in a parade on the field and enjoy a night of baseball with their families.

Saturday, May 30 vs. West Virginia Power, 7:05 p.m.

Following Saturday's game, stick around for another Q105 Fireworks Show presented by the Delaware State Education Association.

The Shorebirds will also welcome more area students for a Hit the Books Night presented by Dr. James Crouse's The Brace Place.

Sunday, May 31 vs. West Virginia Power, 7:05 p.m.

Sunday's series finale against the Power will give fans a chance to collect signatures from the entire Shorebirds roster during a postgame autograph session.

The Shorebirds will also continue the fight against hunger on the Peninsula by holding another Strike Out Hunger Sunday. Fans who bring two canned food items for donation to the Perdue Stadium box office will receive a $3 general admission ticket.

Finally, members of the Junior 'Birds Kids Club presented by McDonald's of the Eastern Shore will have the opportunity to run the bases following the game thanks to Chili's Grill and Bar.

Monday, June 1 vs. Lakewood BlueClaws, 7:05 p.m.

The Lakewood BlueClaws will make a return trip to face the Shorebirds on a 47 ABC Two Buck Monday. Fans will be able to enjoy special $2 pricing on general admission tickets, Esskay hot dogs and small Pepsi products. No coupon is required to take advantage of these deals.

Tuesday, June 2 vs. Lakewood BlueClaws, 7:05 p.m.

Every Tuesday during the 2015 season is a Two For Tuesday presented by McDonald's of the Eastern Shore. Fans who bring a receipt for an extra value meal, happy meal or full-sized salad to the Perdue Stadium box office can receive a buy one, get one free offer on general admission tickets.

Fans who attend the game can also participate in a Tweet Your Seat contest for a chance to win a prize pack courtesy of the McDonald's of the Eastern Shore.

Wednesday, June 3 vs. Lakewood BlueClaws, 7:05 p.m.

The homestand will conclude on a Silver Sluggers night presented by Coastal Home Care. This affordable ticket plan for seniors features tickets to all Wednesday home games. All fans in attendance will also have the chance to play Baseball Bingo for their chance to win a prize from the Shorebirds.
