February 18, 2016 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Stockton Heat News Release

Ontario, Calif. - Stockton Heat forward Drew Shore extended his point streak to five games with a shorthanded goal Wednesday night in Ontario, but the Heat ultimately cannot complete a comeback as they fall to the Reign 6-1 at Citizens Business Bank Arena. The shorthanded marker is the first of Shore's AHL career and gives him six goals and 24 points on the season. Unfortunately, Andrew Crescenzi and his three points led the way for Ontario, as they collected their 29th win of the season. The Stockton Heat will now return home for their next four games, starting this weekend with back-to-back games against the San Jose Barracuda at Stockton Arena.

QUOTES

"I thought we responded pretty well to their start and anytime you can go into the room tied 1-1 on the road it's a good feeling. Unfortunately after that things went downhill pretty quickly." - Drew Shore on heading into the locker room after the first tied thanks to his late shorthanded goal.

"The opening period we were on our heels and [Drew Shore's goal] gave us a little bit of momentum, but when you give one up 30 seconds into the second that just about does it for that momentum." - Head Coach Ryan Huska on the momentum built from Shore's shorthanded goal.
