Waldorf, MD - The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs baseball game against the Somerset Patriots at 7:05 has been postponed due to continued rain and wet field conditions at Regency Furniture Stadium. The game will be made up as part of a twi-night doubleheader on Thursday beginning at 5:00. Both games will be seven innings long.

The rainout is the Blue Crabs' ninth of the season and their sixth at Regency Furniture Stadium. Tomorrow's doubleheader will be the seventh of the season for Southern Maryland, which is 8-4 in doubleheader games this season. The Blue Crabs split twin-bills at Camden (July 8th), at Bridgeport (August 7th and August 26th), and at home against Bridgeport (9/1). Southern Maryland swept two doubleheaders at home against the Road Warriors (August 10th and August 29th).

In tomorrow's doubleheader, the Blue Crabs will send right-hander Virgil Vasquez (7-6, 4.45 ERA) to the bump with fellow-righty Joe Gannon (2-2, 5.51 ERA) to follow in game two. The Patriots will counter with righty Derell McCall (4-7, 4.72 ERA) in the first game, and a to-be-determined starter in the nightcap. Both games can be heard on www.somdbluecrabs.com.
