Spokane Shock News Release

The Spokane Shock announced today that DL Marquess Ledbetter and LB Jermaine Harris have been assigned to their 2007 roster by the league office.

Ledbetter was originally signed by the Shock shortly before training camp but later signed with the AFL's Kansas City Brigade. After being released by Kansas City earlier this week, he was reassigned once again to the Shock's 2007 roster.

Ledbetter, 6'2" 265, joins the Shock after a collegiate career that was cut short due to injury in 2005 while playing at the University of Utah. Despite these injuries, Ledbetter compiled 76 tackles (14 for loss) and recorded 9.5 sacks for 37 yards.

In his final season of play, Ledbetter started in all 12 games including the 2005 Fiesta Bowl in which he tallied four tackles and had two sacks for negative 13 yards. That season, Ledbetter's 46 tackles led the defensive line.

Harris, the nephew of NFL legend Franco Harris, finished his college career in 2004. That season Harris, 6'4' 210, played in 11 games compiling 27 tackles, one interception and two blocks.

Harris spent time this season in camp with the AFL's Georgia Force before being released at the end of camp.

"Jermaine Harris has experience at the JACK (linebacker) spot,'" Head Coach Adam Shackleford said. "He's a tall aggressive player that we are looking forward to having with us."

A limited number of tickets are still available for this weekend's season opener and can be purchased by calling 325-SEAT. Season tickets are also still available and can be purchased by calling 242-7462.
