Blizzard Enter 2007 Season Ranked #5 in Coaches Poll

In the recent af2 coach's pre-season poll the Green Bay Blizzard enter the 2007 season ranked fifth. Looking to build off the 2006 East Division and American Conference Championships, the Blizzard begins the season on the road. The team will face the Fort Wayne Fusion on Saturday, March 31st.

With a coaching change and moving 11 players from last year's roster to the AFL, going into the 2007 season, expectations are high. With the best year in franchise history last season, the fans, coaches, players and front office staff are expecting great things from the team this season.

The 2007 home opener, on April 13th, the Blizzard will go up against the Manchester Wolves, ranked fourth in the pre-season coach's poll. This game will mark the start of the 2007 Blizzard home schedule. Going into April, the Blizzard is nearing 2,000 season tickets. Last season, a then franchise record, the Blizzard reached 1,534 season tickets and in 2005 the team had 640.

In an effort to set a new franchise record in season tickets, the Blizzard would like to announce a new offer to any NEW season ticket holders. The team has teamed up with Jerry Watson, owner of Stadium View Sports Bar & Grill, to offer any new Blizzard season ticket holder FREE parking at Stadium View all season long (an $80 value). In other Blizzard news: former Blizzard QB Chris Greisen was named the AFL Offensive Player of the Month. In 10 games with the Blizzard in 2004 Greisen threw for 68 touchdowns. In 4 games with the AFL's Georgia Force, Greisen has thrown for 30 touchdowns and 1,174 yards. He was also named Week 1's offensive player of the week when he threw for 9 touchdowns. Greisen has led the Georgia Force to a 4-0 start and first place in the division.
