Former Pro Wrestler To Attend Thunder Home Opener

BOARDMAN, Ohio. - Joe Laurinaitis, better known as "Animal" in the professional wrestling industry, will be in attendance as the Mahoning Valley Thunder take on the Tri-Cities Fever this Saturday, the team announced today. The Thunder and Tri-Cities will clash on Cortland Banks Field at the Chevrolet Centre on Saturday, March 31st at 7:05 p.m.

Donning red shoulder pads with protruding black spikes, Laurinaitis was a member of The Road Warriors and The Legion of Doom tag teams since his pro wrestling career began in 1983. The Tag Team is widely recognized by their slogan, "What a Rush." He is a two-time WWE World Tag Team Champion, two-time WCW World Tag Team Champion and WCW 6-man Tag Team Champion with Dusty Rhodes. Laurinaitis currently performs in the PWA, Power Wrestling Alliance (Christian Wrestling).

At 6'2, 280 lbs, Laurinaitis has a 54" chest, 22" neck and 36" waist. He has made several television appearances, including the Regis & Kathy Lee Show, Good Morning America, the Oprah Winfrey Show and the MTV Super Bowl Show with Dan Marino.

Laurinaitis will appear at the Thunder Pre-Game Party on Saturday afternoon in the Administrative Parking Lot beginning at 4:00 p.m. For additional appearance times and locations, please inquire with the Thunder Media Relations Department.
