San Antonio Missions News Release

San Antonio - Texas Rangers OF Shin-Soo Choo will continue his rehab assignment tonight at Wolff Stadium for Frisco in game two of a four-game set against San Antonio.

Choo was a Texas League Post-Season All-Star for San Antonio in 2004 when he was in the Seattle Mariners organization. In 132 games that year with the Missions, Choo hit .315 (163-for-517) with 17 doubles, seven triples, 15 homers, 84 RBI and 89 runs scored.

The Busan, South Korea native has had an injury-plagued 2016 season for Texas, having played in just six games at the big league level. Choo was put on the DL on April 9 with a right calf strain. He returned for just one game in May before going back on the DL with a strained left hamstring.

In 1,131 career games between Seattle, Cleveland, Cincinnati and Texas, Choo is hitting .281 (1166-for-4148) with 248 doubles, 25 triples, 139 homers, 550 RBI, 652 runs and 113 steals.

Choo will be leading off tonight and playing in right field. Fellow rehabber, catcher Robinson Chirinos, will be batting second in the 'Riders lineup as well.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM.
