NASHVILLE — Contemporary Christian recording artist Shaun Groves will perform a pre-game concert in front of a standing-room-only crowd on Friday, August 22 on the last of five Nashville Sounds Faith Nights at Greer Stadium during the 2003 season.

The concert will immediately precede the Sounds' 7 p.m. game against the division-rival Oklahoma RedHawks, the Triple-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers.

Fans will recognize one of Groves' songs, "After The Music Fades," as the song that plays when outfielder Adam Hyzdu comes to the plate in both Nashville and Pittsburgh.

The Sounds' nationally-acclaimed Faith Nights offer a great night of baseball, friends, and fellowship for individuals, families, youth groups, singles groups, Sunday school classes, or any other church-related function.

Tickets for the game/concert are $6-10 for adults, with children and seniors receiving a $1 discount. Groups of 20 or more are eligible for discounted rates. To reserve your seat(s), please contact Brent High at 615-566-6023 or brenthigh@nashvillesounds.com.

After the 2001 release of his debut album, "Invitation to Eavesdrop," by Rocketown Records, Groves was nominated for six Dove Awards, including New Artist, Song ("Welcome Home"), and Songwriter of the Year. In addition, he was also the only new artist with a No. 1 AC radio hit in 2001 or 2002 ("Welcome Home").

But "Invitation to Eavesdrop" delivered more than hit radio songs and peer awards-critics everywhere lauded the album with words like "inventive, "unique," "irresistible," and "insightful." Tours with Bebo Norman, Jars of Clay, Jennifer Knapp and Avalon cemented this artist's favor with Christian music fans across the country, and a summer 2003 international tour with Michael W. Smith introduced Groves to thousands in Europe.

Groves released his second album, "Twilight," in early August to rave reviews.
