GLENDALE, AZ - The Central Hockey League announced on Wednesday that Tulsa Oilers goaltender Shane Madolora has been named the Oakley CHL Goalie of the Week. For his achievement, Madolora will receive a special gift from Oakley.

Madolora started all three of the Oilers games last week and posted a 2-0-1 record. Last Tuesday against Allen, the 26-year old rookie stopped 44 shots in regulation and overtime before shutting down nine of the ten Americans shooters to preserve a 2-1 shootout victory for the Oilers. Friday, Tulsa faced off against Arizona, and Madolora recorded 39 saves to earn his first professional shutout. The week ended on Saturday in a 4-3 overtime loss to Fort Worth, but Madolora kept the Oilers in the contest with 41 saves.

For the week, Madolora stopped 124 of the 129 shots he faced for a .961 save percentage. Over his last 11 starts, the California native is 8-2-1 and has climbed to fifth in the league in overall save percentage (.915) and seventh in the CHL in total saves (749). Madolora, who started the season in the SPHL, has started 22 of the Oilers last 25 games.

Madolora is the second Oiler to take home goalie of the week honors this season. Ian Keserich was given the honor for the week ending November 11, 2012.

The Oilers begin their longest road trip of the season this Saturday when they travel to Arizona for the first of back-to-back games with the Sundogs. Puck drop is set for 9:05 p.m. Central Time. Tulsa is 3-0-0 against the Sundogs this season.
