Bloomington Blaze News Release
For the third time this season, a Bloomington Junior Blaze goaltender has earned a weekly honor from the Midwest Junior Hockey League.
The circuit named Gavin Carlson as MWJHL Goaltender of the Week thanks largely to a 25-save win on Saturday in a 6-3 road victory over the Michigan Grrrowl, of which 18 stops came in the first two periods. Carlson is 10-2-2 with the league's sixth-best goals-against average of 3.71 and the fourth-best save percentage of .906. His 10 wins also ties him for fourth in the league. The Junior Blaze are off until a pair of games at home during the first weekend of March.
The Blaze parent club hosts the Rapid City Rush in an important Central Hockey League battle on Wednesday night at 7:05 as the Blaze can move up one place in the standings with a win. Wednesday is another Casey's 8 Gallons Night with admission only $8 with a voucher from area Casey's General Stores with each eight-gallon gasoline purchase. Vouchers can also be found and printed from the home page of www.bloomingtonblaze.com. For single-game or game day tickets, visit the U.S. Cellular Coliseum box office or call 309-434-2679. For multi-game and group discounts or more information about the Blaze, call 309-TC SPORT (827-7678). Team information is also available on Facebook and Twitter (BLMBlaze).
