(WILMINGTON, DE) The P-Nats did not put their best foot forward early in Sunday's series finale in Wilmington. Two Blue Rocks runs in the first were followed by a sloppily played second inning that yielded four more. Combined with an overpowering performance from John Lamb, the Blue Rocks had more than enough to cruise to a 9-4 victory, their third in the four game series.

After Adrian Alaniz retired the first two Rocks' hitters in the first inning, Wilmington rallied. Singles by Eric Hosmer and Jamie Romak were cashed in when Salvador Perez tripled to left field to give the Blue Rocks a 2-0 lead.

The second inning was a microcosm of the forgettable game for the P-Nats. A leadoff line drive to right was misplayed by Mike Burgess and allowed Rey Navarro to advance to second base. Juan Rivera, trying to bunt, was then walked. Fernando Garcia did sacrifice, but third baseman Dan Lyons was slow to charge and the bases were loaded with no outs. Patrick Norris then hit a ground ball to second; Steve Lombardozzi decided to try to come home, but the throw was late and the flood gates creaked open.

A single from Nick Francis scored a run, an Alaniz wild pitch scored Garcia and Hosmer hit a sacrifice fly to left to make it 6-0.

Potomac got a run back in the fourth. Lombardozzi led off the frame with a triple off the wall in centerfield, and scored on Lyons' sacrifice fly.

The Rocks scored individual runs in the fourth, sixth and seventh innings (Hosmer scored the first two, both after he walked). Francis drove in Rivera in the eighth to score the ninth and final run.

The P-Nats did make a run in the ninth; after consecutive walks to open the frame, Tyler Moore hit a three-run homer to straightaway center. But a couple fly outs ended the affair and sent the Nats down I-95 losers of three out of four.

Potomac opens a three-game set with the division-leading Frederick Keys Monday night at 7:03 P.M. Brad Peacock will look to stop the two-game skid against Rick Zagone.
