THE HILLCATS: Last night Lynchburg lost 6-1 to Frederick at Harry Grove Stadium...The Hillcats have now dropped the first three games of the four-game set...Today they play the final game of the series at Frederick and the fourth contest of seven in a row on the road...

VS. FREDERICK: The Hillcats are 5-8 against the Keys this season and are 1-5 at Harry Grove Stadium...Last season the Cats went 14-5 versus the Keys and were 7-2 at in the Hill City...Lynchburg holds the all-time advantage 161-141 and they are 76-75 at The Grove...Last season the Cats record against the Keys was their best against any opponent in the Carolina League at home, on the road and overall...

HAVEN'T WE DONE THIS BEFORE? Lynchburg is in the midst of 13 games in a row that are all against Salem and Frederick...They just played six at home against the two teams (three against each squad) and now are on the road to play seven games (four in Frederick and then three at Salem) at the Keys and Sox home parks...The Hillcats began the season with 14 games against only Salem and Frederick as well and they will have a similar stretch at the end of July...

TURN FOR THE WORSE: Halfway through game one of this series, the Hillcats led 4-1 and looked to be heading to a sixth straight win and had a chance to pull within five games of first place in the Northern Division...The Keys then scored six unanswered runs to take the series opener 7-4 and since Lynchburg led 4-1 in the middle of game one, Frederick has outscored them 17-2...Lynchburg is now nine games out of first place in the Northern Division with 15 games left to play in the first half...

RESET BUTTON: Last night Lynchburg committed a season-high five errors that lead to three unearned runs in their 6-1 loss...In the first inning Frederick scored two runs without hitting a ball out of the infield thanks to two walks, two infield hits, an error and a balk...UTIL Cody Puckett became the first Hillcat this season to commit three errors in one game (two of which came on one play), he had just four in 48 games before last night...

NO PICK: Last night Lynchburg did not have a runner picked off of a base for the first time in four games...

BRAY'S BIG DAY: LHP Bill Bray celebrated his 27th birthday by making his 2010 debut last night...The former first round pick went one scoreless inning in his first appearance as a Hillcat...It was his first time pitching in a real game since April 15th of last year with Triple-A Louisville...He was activated Thursday and was transferred to the Lynchburg roster Friday from the Bats...The southpaw has been on the Disabled List since last season with a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his left elbow that led to Tommy John surgery...Last season he only made three appearances after he had spent time at the Major League level the three previous seasons...In 2008 he went 2-2 with a 2.87 ERA in 63 games out of the bullpen for the Reds...Bray was acquired by Cincinnati in a trade in 2006 along with SS Royce Clayton, INF Brendan Harris, RHP Gary Majewski and RHP Daryl Thompson, in exchange for OF Austin Kearns, SS Felipe Lopez and RHP Ryan Wagner...He pitched in the Carolina League in 2005 with Potomac and had a 1-0 mark with a 2.13 ERA and three saves in eight relief appearances with the Cannons...He is the only Hillcat with any previous experience in the CL...

DON'T WALK: LHP Andrew Bowman did not allow an earned run and did not walk a batter in two innings of work last night...It was the first time in 15 appearances that he didn't issue a base on balls and only the second time in 19 games this season he did not hand out a free pass...He has walked 23 men in 29 and 1/3 innings this season...

PACKING SOME PUNCH: UTIL Kevyn Feiner knocked his first extra-base hit as a Hillcat last night in his 17th game with Lynchburg...He had 16 hits and was batting .340 in 16 games before last night, but all 16 hits were singles until he lined a double down the left field line a night ago...Feiner now has three extra-base hits in 98 at-bats this year...

HOME IS WHERE THE HOMERS IS: Friday night INF Alex Buchholz hit his third home run of the season...It was his first home run as a professional in his home state of Maryland...His other homer on the road this season was at Wilmington, in the same state he spent his collegiate days at the University of Delaware...

TODAY'S OPPOSING PITCHER: LHP Oliver Drake was taken by the Orioles in the 43rd round of the 2008 draft out of the United States Naval Academy...His sophomore and final season with the Midshipmen he went 6-3 with a 3.70 ERA in 13 starts...He made hi professional debut with Rookie Bluefield that same year and was 1-0 with a 0.77 ERA in seven games...He finished the season with Short Season Low-A Aberdeen and went 0-0 with a 0.87 ERA and a save in five relief appearances...Last season he progressed to full season Low-A with Delmarva and posted an 8-9 mark with a 4.34 ERA in 25 games (24 starts) with the Shorebirds...This year Drake began with Frederick and he has a 1-2 record with a 3.91 ERA in seven games (four starts) with the Keys...He made his Advanced-A debut against Lynchburg on Opening Night at City Stadium and he pitched a scoreless frame in a Cats win...He entered the season ranked as the 22nd best prospect in the Orioles organization according to Baseball America...
