SF Bulls Wear Sharks-Themed Jerseys, Drop 4-2 Decision to Condors

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - Peter Sivak scored two goals, but the San Francisco Bulls (18-24-1-6) were defeated by the Bakersfield Condors (15-34-2-3), 4-2, Sunday afternoon at the Cow Palace. Brian Stewart stood tall for the Condors making 40 saves.

After a penalty to Marek Viedensky for slashing on a San Francisco power play the Condors took a 1-0 lead on a 4-on-4 situation. Kyle Haines broke away on an odd-man rush and fired the puck past Heemskerk with 5:15 remaining in the first period. The Condors doubled the lead to 2-0 with 46 seconds left in the period. Jacob Lagace scored shorthanded after a feed from Francis Verreault with 46 seconds remaining in the period. Haines also picked up an assist on the goal.

San Francisco got back into the game courtesy of Sivak on the power play. A pass by Viedensky found Sivak alone with the goaltender Brian Stewart. Sivak stick-handled around the sprawling Stewart, and deposited the puck into the goal for his 22nd goal of the season. Cody Carlson also picked up an assist on the goal scored at 3:07. The Condors quickly regained their two-goal lead when Scott Freeman scored his second goal of the season. Tyler Maxwell picked up the lone assist at 4:04 of the second period.

Sivak brought the Bulls within one with 3:42 remaining in the third period. Sivak's shot from the top of the left circle beat Stewart who was caught out of position on the play. Once again the Condors found a way to quickly regain their two-goal advantage. Nicholas Tremblay scored his 12th goal of the season a minute later to give the Condors a 4-2 lead. Tremblay broke away and slid the puck past Heemskerk, who tried to recover but the puck had already crossed the goal line.

The Bulls will travel to Idaho to take on the Steelheads on Tuesday and Wednesday. The puck drops at 6:10 pm on both nights. Follow along on - 2a KNBR.com and - 58 AmericaOneSports.com. The Bulls will return home next Sunday to take on the Stockton Thunder at 2:15. The next home game will be Pucks and Paws day at the Cow Palace.
