The Aces outshot the Thunder 13-8 in an opening period that yielded no scoring for the third straight time on the weekend.

Stockton broke the scoreless tie on a power play at 7:16 when Ryan Constant sent a wrist shot from the left circle over the right shoulder of Mark Guggenberger, just underneath the crossbar to give the Thunder a 1-0 lead. Alaska responded with two power play goals from Alex Imbeault to turn things around. Imbeault poked in a puck from the crease on a goal-mouth scramble at 9:50 to tie the score, and then scored on a rebound at 13:46 to give the Aces their first lead at 2-1. Alaska outshot Stockton 16-10 in the period, and took the one-goal lead into the second intermission.

Early in the third period, Imbeault completed his natural hat trick after a Stockton defensive zone turnover. Zach Harrison found Imbeault in the bottom of the slot and Imbeault tapped a shot past Tyler Bunz for his 14th goal of the season at 3:25. Imbeault finished the season series with 8 goals and 12 points in ten games against the Thunder. Alaska outshot Stockton 15-4 in the period, and never allowed the Thunder a chance to get back into the game.

Mark Guggenberger (17-6-4) made 21 saves on 22 shots for the win. Tyler Bunz (11-12-4) made a career-high 41 saves on 44 shots in the loss. The Aces went 2-3 on the power play and the Thunder were 1-5. Alaska outshot Stockton 44-22 in the game, matching a season high shot total for Alaska.

The Aces now travel to Utah for a four-game series against the Grizzlies, beginning on Friday, February 15. Alaska returns home to host the Las Vegas Wranglers in three straight on Friday, February 22. All Aces games can be heard on NewsTalk 103.7FM and 750AM KFQD.
