
Seymour's Strong Start Not Enough in 5-1 Loss to Smokies

KODAK, TN - Despite five innings of one-run ball from Ian Seymour, the Montgomery Biscuits (7-6) lost 5-1 to the Tennessee Smokies (7-5) on Friday night at Smokies Stadium. The Smokies have taken three of the first four games in the series.
Seymour allowed just two hits, one solo homer, and two walks in his five innings of work. The 25-year-old has gone five innings in each of his first three starts. Over 15 innings, Seymour has allowed two runs and struck out 22 while walking three.
Trailing 1-0 in the seventh, Willy Vasquez tied the game with an RBI double into the left-field corner that scored Nick Schnell. Vasquez finished 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.
Tennessee responded with a run in the bottom of the seventh to take the lead and added three insurance runs in the eighth to make it 5-1.
The fifth game of the series is Saturday night at Smokies Stadium. Ben Peoples will make the start for Montgomery while Richard Gallardo will start for Tennessee. The first pitch is at 6:00 pm CT. Fans can listen on Sports Radio 740, MiLB First Pitch App, and Bally Live.
