
Barons and M-Braves Postponed by Rain on Friday Night in Birmingham

Birmingham, AL - Due to inclement weather, Friday's scheduled 7:00 pm game between the Mississippi Braves and Birmingham Barons at Regions Field has been postponed. The call to postpone was made two hours after the scheduled first pitch at 9:00 pm. The game will be made up as part of a Saturday, April 20 doubleheader, with the first pitch of game one at 4:30 pm.
Saturday's doubleheader will feature two seven-inning games. The second game will start approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first contest.
The M-Braves will send out RHP Hurston Waldrep (0-2, 12.86) to start game one and RHP JJ Niekro (1-0, 1.69) in the nightcap. Coverage will begin at 4:15 pm on 102.1 The Box, MiLB.tv, and Bally Live.
The M-Braves are in the midst of a two-city, two-week road trip to Birmingham and Montgomery. The road trip will include 12 games: six against the Barons at Regions Field, April 16-21, and six against the Montgomery Biscuits, April 23-28.
