Seventh-Inning Explosion Leads Biscuits to Victory

MOBILE, Ala. - The Biscuits (4-3) entered the seventh inning trailing 4-0 but ripped seven hits and seven runs in the frame in a 7-4 win over the Mobile BayBears (4-3) Thursday night at Hank Aaron Stadium.

After getting shutout on Wednesday night, the Biscuits did not score through the first six innings. Taylor Motter hit a chopper over the third-baseman to score the first run of the inning. Later in the inning, Alejandro Segovia drove in two runs to tie the game at four. Luke Maile then hit a dribbler up along third that scored the go-ahead run. Jake Hager and Joey Rickard both drove in a run for the sixth and seventh runs of the inning respectively.

The Biscuits bullpen was outstanding again with Jake Thompson (1-0) picking up the win after throwing an 1.2 innings without allowing a run. Matt Ramsey struck out two in a perfect seventh inning, followed by Santiago Garrido who faced the minimum in the final two innings to pick up his third save of the year.

The BayBears scored one run in the second and third innings. David Peralta hit a bloop single that scored two runs to make it 4-0 Mobile.

The Biscuits finished with a season-high 15 hits. Cameron Seitzer, Segovia, Maile, Hager and Rickard all finished with two hits each while Ryan Brett collected his first three-hit game of the year.

The middle-game of the series is Friday night at 7:05. RH Jared Mortensen will get the ball for the Biscuits while the BayBears will send RH Mike Lee to the mound.
