Seven Atlanta United Players Receive National Team Call-Ups for June FIFA Window

ATLANTA - Luis Abram, Thiago Almada, Machop Chol, Derrick Etienne Jr., Ajani Fortune, Giorgos Giakoumakis and Miles Robinson have received call-ups from their respective national teams for the June 12-20 FIFA window.

Abram will join Peru for two friendlies at South Korea on June 16 and at Japan on June 20. The defender has represented Peru 34 times at the international level, including 11 matches in World Cup qualification, making his senior national team debut in a friendly against Trinidad and Tobago on May 24, 2016.

Almada returns to Argentina's squad after becoming the first active MLS player to win the FIFA World Cup in Qatar. The 21-year-old made one appearance in the tournament, entering as a substitute against Poland in the group stage. He has three appearances with Argentina's senior national team, making his debut against Honduras in September of 2022. Argentina will play two friendlies against Australia in China on June 15 and at Indonesia on June 19.

Chol was called up to join South Sudan as it prepares for a qualification match for the African Cup of Nations against Gambia on June 14 and a friendly against Egypt on June 18. The Homegrown forward has two appearances for South Sudan and made his debut on Jan. 27, 2022 in a friendly against Uzbekistan.

Etienne Jr. will join Haiti as it prepares for the 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup. The winger has earned 38 caps and tallied eight goals and nine assists with the Haiti National Team since making his debut as a substitute in a Caribbean Cup qualifier against French Guiana on Nov. 9, 2016.

Fortune, 20, will join Trinidad and Tobago for a Gold Cup preliminary round match against Guadeloupe on June 16. The Homegrown midfielder has made four appearances with the senior national team, making his debut on Feb. 1, 2021 in a friendly against the United States.

Giakoumakis will join Greece for a pair of European Qualifying matches for UEFA Euro 2024, at home against Ireland on June 16 and at France on June 19. The 28-year-old forward has represented Greece at both the U-21 and senior level. He's made 13 appearances and scored two goals for his country. He scored on his international debut on Nov. 11, 2020 in a friendly against Cyprus.

Robinson returns to the USMNT for the Concacaf Nations League semifinal against Mexico on June 15 in Las Vegas, with the winner to face either Panama or Canada in the final on June 18. Robinson has 21 caps and three goals with the USMNT, earning his senior team debut on Sept. 6, 2019 coming on as a substitute in a friendly against Mexico. Robinson started all six matches and scored two goals at the 2021 Concacaf Gold Cup where he helped the U.S. secure five clean sheets and scored the game-winning goal in the final as the U.S. beat Mexico 1-0. He started 11 of 14 World Cup Qualifiers this past cycle, helping the USMNT qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
