June 9, 2011 - North American League (NAmL)
Edmonton Capitals News Release
After a tough three-game road trip in Calgary, your Edmonton Capitals (6-5) return home today to host the Lake County Fielders for a big five-game series at TELUS Field. The Fielders are owned by actor Kevin Costner and have emerged as one of the teams to beat in the North American League this season with a 10-2 record heading into the series.
The five-game set at TELUS Field opens tonight (Thursday) with a 7 p.m. start. It's another Thirsty Thursday presented by Hudsons Canadian Tap House and 100.3 The Bear, as beer is on sale for just $3! Major League veteran and 2001 World Series champion Albie Lopez is scheduled to be the Caps' starting pitcher on Thursday.
The series continues Friday night with another 7 p.m. start, and in a slight scheduling change, both Saturday and Sunday games this weekend will be afternoon starts at 2 p.m. If you have tickets to this Saturday's game, please note the afternoon start time. Sunday's game is another Dental Choice Family Pack Sunday presented by 630 CHED, as four tickets, four hot dogs and four Pepsi products are just $52! There is also a Caps autograph session immediately following every Sunday home game.
The series against the Fielders wraps up on Monday at 7 p.m., which is the Caps' lone Monday game on their 2011 home schedule. The Caps then have Tuesday off before hosting the Chico Outlaws Wednesday through Friday at TELUS Field.
The Capitals are the city's most affordable entertainment option in the summer featuring Edmonton's largest patio! Season seats start at less than $9 per seat. Individual game tickets start at $10 in advance and can be purchased at the Capitals Box Office (10233 - 96 Ave) during regular business hours Monday through Friday, at any Ticketmaster location, online at capsbaseball.ca or via phone at 780-414-GOAL (4625).
