August 28, 2009 - Carolina League (CarL1)
Lynchburg Hillcats News Release

The series opener between Lynchburg and Winston-Salem has been postponed due to rain. Game one has been rescheduled for Saturday night as part of a doubleheader with the Dash that will begin at 6:00 p.m. at Wake Forest Baseball Park.

The Hillcats completed a four-game series with Wilmington and an eight-game homestand on Thursday night with a 7-2 loss to the Blue Rocks. The Rocks handed the Cats their first four-game series sweep of the season and Lynchburg went just 2-6 on their recent homestand.

The series with Winston-Salem starts a stretch of eight-games in a row on the road for the Hillcats, who now have just 10 games remaining in the regular season. After the season concludes the playoffs will get underway on September 9, with game one of the Northern Division Series at City Stadium.
