Fort Worth Brahmas News Release
NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas - Bad breaks, unlucky bounces, stellar play by the opposing goaltender and a short bench sent the Brahmas Semifinals series against a strong Odessa team to a 2-2 tie Friday evening as Texas fell 4-1 at the NYTEX Sports Centre.
Game Four of the Southern Conference Semifinals began eerily similar to the Game Three loss, as Odessa took a 3-0 lead in the first period. Scoring began with a goal from Mike Ramsay at the 7:09 mark; his second of the postseason. Four minutes later a bad bounce off the boards had Brett Jaeger away from his crease leaving an open net for Collin Circelli. Jaeger's night came to an end early as he gave up a third goal, this time to Sebastien Thinel with five minutes remaining in the opening period.
Three minutes into the second a hit caused the glass to shatter at the NYTEX Sports Centre putting the fans onto the feet, but it would be the only highlight in the period as both teams went scoreless. A fourth goal for Odessa came in the third with Jeff Pierce beating Joe Palmer. The Brahmas made certain a shutout would not happen in their barn as Kevin Seibel's shot from the point beat Juha Toivonen with less than six minutes left in the game. Thinel scored his second of the evening, Odessa's fifth at the 19:14 mark to push the series to a 2-2 tie.
The Brahmas hit the road for Game Five tomorrow night in Odessa for a 7:05 PM faceoff before returning back to the NYTEX Sports Centre for Game Six Monday night in the best of seven series.
