ORLANDO, Fla. - Philadelphia Union took on New England Revolution Saturday night in the MLS is Back Tournament knockout stage presented by Audi. The club defeated their Eastern Conference foe 1-0 and secured their place in the quarterfinals. An evenly matched first half saw the two sides head into halftime tied at 0-0. The breakthrough for the Union came in the 63rd minute when Jamiro Monteiro placed a pass over the top of the Revolution defense that was finished from a tough angle by Sergio Santos. The Union returns to action on Thursday, July 30 at 8:00 P.M. in the MLS is Back Quarterfinals matchup against the winner of Sporting KC and Vancouver's Round of 16 clash.

Goalkeeper Andre Blake's stellar tournament continued against New England. He made five saves on the night to secure his second shutout of the season. Blake leads MLS with 27 saves and MLS is Back Tournament with 21 saves. He has registered at least five saves in five of six matches in 2020.

Sergio Santos netted his second goal of 2020, sixth for the Union and his first match-winner for Philadelphia. Half of his career goals have now come against the New England after he scored twice in the Union's record-matching 6-1 win over the Revolution (5/4/19).

When the clock hits 60 the Union offense comes to life. Philadelphia has scored five of its eight goals between the 60th and 69th minute in 2020 and four of five goals in the MLS is Back Tournament. More specifically the Union has scored three goals at MLS is Back in exactly the 63rd minute.
