Serbian Midfielder Zivanovic Joins Hounds

PITTSBURGH (May 14, 2015) - The Pittsburgh Riverhounds are pleased to announce that Boris Zivanovic has agreed terms for the remainder of the 2015 USL season.
Zivanovic began his professional career with F.K. Zemun in his hometown of Belgrade, Serbia. He recently spent two seasons playing in Hungary's top division for 13-time champion Budapest Honved.
"We've scouted Boris heavily and he's a very smart soccer player," said Riverhounds head coach Mark Steffens. "He's played at a high level and he knows how to get in behind a defense."
The 25-year-old wide midfielder can operate on both flanks and will bring additional pace to the Hounds attack.
The Riverhounds have also signed German midfielder Jeffrey Kyei to a Premier Development League contract for the summer. Kyei played for the Hounds' Under-23 side during its inaugural 2014 season and signed professional terms with the senior team this year.
"It's great for the PDL team to have a player of Jeffrey's caliber on board," Steffens said. "And it's a great opportunity for Jeffrey to lead our young group and to really excel."
The Hounds' PDL season kicks off May 27 against K-W United at Highmark Stadium. Kickoff is to be determined given the senior team's potential Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup third round clash with the Tampa Bay Rowdies that evening.
