Richmond Kickers News Release

RICHMOND, VA - (Thursday, May 14, 2015) - The Richmond Kickers conclude a two-game road stand against the Pittsburgh Riverhounds this Saturday, May 16. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m., broadcast live from Highmark Stadium on YouTube.com/RichmondKickers.

The Kickers and the Riverhounds meet Saturday for the first time in 2015 after closing out last season's three-game series in Pittsburgh in June when the Kickers edged the home side 3-1. Earlier that season, the Kickers earned a win and a draw at City Stadium to extend their all-time series advantage to 17-7-8 against the Riverhounds, with the rivalry dating back to 1999 when the two franchises competed in the then-USL First Division.

Both teams enter Saturday's match-up following losses on the road last week. Left short-handed courtesy of Alex Lee's 40th minute red card ejection, the 10-men Kickers were upended 3-0 in Charlotte when the expansion franchise posted three unanswered goals to snap the visitors' unbeaten streak.

Meanwhile, the Riverhounds were equally as unlucky in Charleston, conceding three goals before pulling one back with less than 10 minutes remaining. Riverhounds captain Danny Earls whipped a cross into the box and connected with Miroslav Cabrilo who nodded home his first goal of the season to avoid the shutout.

Following Saturday's road trip, the Kickers return to City Stadium next week for two games in four games, first hosting Virginia Beach City FC in the U.S. Open Cup Second Round on Wednesday, May 20 before swapping home field advantage with Pittsburgh on Saturday, May 23. Wild Wolf Wednesday tickets, including admission and a Kick It Hunny, are on sale now for $12.00 at RichmondKickers.com.
