Modesto, CA. - Antonio Senzatela pitched the Modesto Nuts to a 5-1 win against the Bakersfield Blaze on Friday night at John Thurman Field in front of a sellout crowd of 4,874.
Senzatela (W, 8-6) tossed seven strong innings with nine strikeouts and one walk. The righty struck out seven of the first nine batters he faced and had to strand just three baserunners.
A four-run fourth for the Nuts (61-56; 28-19) opened things up. Ryan McMahon started the frame with a solo home run off Blaze (49-68; 23-24) starter Tyler Pike (L, 3-6). Wilfredo Rodriguez cracked a two-out solo shot. Emerson Jimenez added a RBI double and proceeded to score on a passed ball.
Pike went four innings allowing five runs on eight hits with three walks and just two strikeouts.
