Sens Walk Off Baysox on Lara Single

Gilbert Lara singled in placed runner Justin Connell with one out in the bottom of the tenth inning Saturday night giving the Senators a 2-1 win over the Bowie Baysox. The win is the Senators fourth straight, all over the Baysox. Zach Brzykcy held the Baysox off the scoreboard in the top of the tenth, stranding the placed runner at third base.

Jake Irvin made his FNB Field debut and went five strong innings, allowing three hits while striking out four. Edgar Garcia followed going two innings and giving up a game tying solo home run. Curtis Taylor pitched two scoreless frames, the eighth and ninth innings before turning the game over to Brzykcy.

Lara singled up the middle in the tenth to drive in the winning run, his only hit of the night. KJ Harrisburg had three hits and Drew Millas chipped in with two. The Senators first run, coming in the first inning, was driven in by Alfredo Rodriguez with a single to right field.

The four-game winning streak is the Senators second longest such streak this season. With the win the Senators win their first series since taking five of six from Reading April 19-24. The Senators were errorless for the 31st time in 56 games.
