Senators Take Advantage to Grap Lead in Fourth, Post 7-1 Win

The Senators tallied five runs in the fourth inning and cruised to a 7-1 win over Akron Wednesday night at Canal Park in Akron. Three of the five runs were unearned in the big fourth inning for the Senators after they took advantage of a two-out throwing error. They tacked on two more in the eighth on a two-run home run by Jacob Rhinesmith.

ON CAPITAL HILL

Jackson Tetreault started and earned the win. He walked two in the first including walking in a run but struck out the final two batters to strand the bases loaded. He then retired 9 of the next 10 batters including nine straight. He stranded the bases loaded for a second time in the fifth inning. He struck out six in the outing and walked four. Bryan Dobzanski pitched a scoreless sixth, allowing two hits but stranding runners at second and third. Jhon Romero pitched the seventh and eighth innings and retired all six of the seven batters he faced. Pearson McMahan pitched the ninth inning and retired all three batters he faced, with two strikeouts.

WITH THE GAVEL

Jacob Rhinesmith went 2-for-4 with an RBI single and a two-run home run, he also scored twice. Cole Freeman had one hit, but it was a two-run two-out single in the fourth inning capping a five-run inning for the Senators. Jake Alu had two hits and scored a run.

FILIBUSTERS

With the win, the Senators have a four-game winning streak for the first time this season. Harrisburg has won 10 of their past 17 games, their best stretch this season. It was the Sens third straight errorless game.

The Senators and Akron RubberDucks play game three of their six-game series Thursday at 6:35 p.m. at Canal Park in Akron. The game can be heard on CBS Sports Radio Harrisburg 96.5FM 95.3FM and 1400AM beginning at 6:15 p.m.
