Senators Snap Losing Streak with 8-2 Win

The Harrisburg Senators snapped their seven-game losing streak with an 8-2 win over the Reading Fightin Phils Wednesday night at FNB Field. Luis Reyes was outstanding, going seven innings for the win. The Senators broke the game open with five runs in the seventh inning including a three-run home run by Omar Meregildo.

Reyes allowed just five hits in the seven runs. He struck out seven and walked two. He faced 27 batters in the seven innings of work. Zach Brzykcy finished up by tossing the final two frames allowing a couple runs on three hits.

Daniel Johnson homered in the first inning giving the Senators a 1-0 lead. He chipped in with a single and scored twice. Meregildo had a single and scored twice in addition to his three-run home run. Darren Baker, Israel Pineda, and Trey Harris all had two hits. Harrisburg also stole three bases, two by Trey Harris and one for Darren Baker.

The Senators were 4-for-15 with runners in scoring position. The snapped seven-game losing streak was the second time this season the Sens have dropped seven straight games. Harrisburg leads the season series against Reading 6-2.
