Akron RubberDucks News Release
Summary
Micah Pries comes through in the clutch for the second straight night as his two-run single gives the Akron RubberDucks the walk-off 3-2 win over the Bowie Baysox on Wednesday night at Canal Park.
Turning Point
Once again trailing entering the bottom of the ninth, the RubberDucks looked to rally. Jose Tena worked a leadoff walk before back-to-back hit by pitches to Brayan Rocchio and Bryan Lavastida loaded the bases. Micah Pries lined a two-run single into right field to score Tena and Rocchio to give Akron the 3-2 win.
Mound Presence
Gavin Williams got the start for Akron and worked around base runners all night. The first three Baysox batters all reached to open the game before Williams got a line out and flyout double play to escape without a run. Two more reached for Bowie in the second, but back-to-back strikeouts got Williams out of that inning. Bowie struck for two in the third giving Williams the final line of three innings allowing two unearned runs while striking out four. Eli Lingos followed with two scoreless innings. Kyle Marman tossed two scoreless innings. Carlos Vargas followed with two scoreless innings.
Duck Tales
The RubberDucks started to cut into the Baysox lead in the fifth when Raynel Delgado singled home Daniel Schneemann to make it 2-1 Bowie.
