Senators Slide Past Bears 2-1 Sunday

Hershey Bears News Release
With both teams playing three games in as many nights Sunday in Binghamton, goaltending took center stage. The Senators behind Barry Brust edged HERSHEY and Braden Holtby 2-1 at Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena.
Andrew Sweetland, who signed a player tryout contract to play for Binghamton earlier in the day, paid immediate dividends for Binghamton. Sweetland, who skated last season in Rochester with the Americans, scored his first AHL goal of the season just 1:46 into the game, giving the Senators a 1-0 lead. Midway through the first, Boyd Kane picked up a puck behind the Binghamton net and skated it out front, scoring his 11th goal of the season. Keith Aucoin and Francois Bouchard earned the assists at 12:48 of the first to tie the game.
The game remained 1-1 into the third period, when Ryan Keller broke into the left circle and one-timed a shot past Holtby at 7:37 to give the home team a 2-1 lead. Despite a power play at the end of regulation, the BEARS could not find the equalizer. Binghamton snapped a two-game losing streak, but has now won five of its last seven. HERSHEY is winless in two games as the team begins a home stand Friday night at Giant Center.
BEARS Radio Network Three Stars of the game:
1. Ryan Keller (Scored game-winning goal in third period)
2. Barry Brust (Allowed one goal in earning the win)
3. Braden Holtby (35 saves on 37 shots)
Notes: Holtby stopped a penalty shot midway through the second period, denying Binghamton's Mike Hoffman. Defenseman Tyler Sloan missed the game with an upper body injury, two games after being assigned by Washington on a conditioning stint. He is listed as day-to-day. Albany provides the opposition Friday at Giant Center. Tickets are available at the Giant Center box office, or by calling (717) 534-3911.
