Blues Return Ian Cole to Peoria

St. Louis Blues Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today the club has assigned defenseman Ian Cole to the Blues' American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Peoria Rivermen.

Cole, 21, collected nine penalty minutes in Saturday night's Blues loss to the San Jose Sharks. Overall, the 6'1, 221-pound defenseman has played in 11 games with the Blues this year, serving 21 penalty minutes. He made his NHL debut in a 2-1 shootout victory on November 6 in Boston.

He has made 29 appearances for Peoria this season registering five points on one goal and four assists. The Ann Arbor, Michigan native was originally drafted by the Blues in the first round, 18th overall in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

The Rivermen kick off a four-game road trip on Tuesday in Abbotsford at 9 p.m. After a rematch with the Heat on Wednesday the Rivermen will travel to Toronto on Saturday and Lake Erie on Sunday before returning home.
