OTTAWA - Ottawa Senators general manager Bryan Murray announced today the club has loaned forward Jesse Winchester to the club's American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators , on a two-week conditioning assignment.

Winchester, 26, sustained a right knee injury in the Senators' 2-1 pre-season loss in Montreal on Sept. 18 and has missed the team's first eight regular-season games. He is expected to be in the lineup this evening when the B-Sens (2-3-2) travel to Syracuse, N.Y., to face the Crunch at 7:30 p.m.

An undrafted college free agent who signed with the Senators on March 24, 2008, Winchester has appeared in 77 National Hockey League contests, recording 18 points (three goals and 15 assists) while registering 35 penalty minutes.

A native of Long Sault, Ont., Winchester spent four years with the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Association's Colgate University Red Raiders, where he was the team's captain in his senior year of 2007-08. He made his NHL debut in the Senators' 4-0 defeat at Boston on March 29, 2008.
